When I have some text scrolling by I often use the XON/XOFF (^S/^Q) keys to halt and restart it. Sometimes however I want to ^C out of it. When I type the ^C while the text has paused I still have to type ^Q to get back to a DCL prompt after the process exits. It's only a minor annoyance, but does anyone know what can be done (if anything) to have ^C 'return' me to the DCL prompt without having to type a ^Q? I haven't used UNIX for some time, but I seem to remember a nice feature: When waiting for a foreground job, you could type ^Z and it became a background job, giving you the Unix prompt and allowing you to continue working. Does anyone know how such a feature might be implemented in VMS, or is this impossible? Thanks to all who reply. Ric Steinberger steinberger@kl.sri.com (415)859-4300 -------
