Is anybody out there using VAXstation II's with the GPX option? My group is interested in getting one, and we'd like to hear about the problems and/or successes people are having with them. In particular, 1) Is it worth getting a color system? If so, is it also worth getting the "enhanced" color system instead of the "basic" system? 2) Have VAXstation-II/GPX's been shipped with VMS instead of Ultrix? We would have uses for both operating systems. 3) (This should really be #1...) Is it worth getting the GPX option on a VAXstation at all? Does it enhance performance enough to justify the $$ to buy it? 4) Any suggestions on optimal memory configuration? Is 3 megabytes really enough memory to take advantage of the enhanced display capability? To the net: I'm REAL interested in heading from anybody who knows of (a) a terminal emulator that supports Tektronix 41xx graphics in a form similar to the VT220 and Tek 4010/4014 emulators that DEC distributes OR (b) a graphics library that uses the UIS$ routines to provide Tek 41xx compatability. Pointers to this information, especially if it is PD or easily available would save me a LOT of work...
