In an on-going effort to save trees, we recently implemented a system to
limit printing. Basically we give everyone a weekly pages-printed quota
and each night go thru the VMS accounting records to decrement individual
accounts.
The second day this was in effect, a student came in complaining he was
out of quota (50/week) and had only printed a 2 page file! Accounting said
164 pages but he had the listing with him and everything checked .. entry
number, file id, time stamp etc. Checking another user's listing revealed
that the physical count of pages was 39, but accounting listed 3! End of
print limits for a while!!
Anyone noticed this??

ps Colorado was called and they said
they were aware of problem and working
on it. It is supposed to happen only
infrequently, but I wonder??
