I'm in the process of replacing a bunch of dmz and dmf ports with decserver 200's. I'd like to make the change as transparent as possible to the user base while enabling the features of the decserver for the more experienced users. I've gotten pretty close with setting the preferred service and autoconnect parameters but the server still wants to see a user name. The users see this as a redundant question, why should they enter their user name twice..... Has anyone gone into the PR801ENG.SYS file and patched out the subroutine that asks for the username? I really have no need for that function at all. One last item; has anyone noticed that on a DECserver-200 with modem control enabled, if a user "locks" a port it stays locked even though carrier is dropped? My feeling is the lock should disappear....maybe this is a bug.
