We would like to use JNET based routines to produce a mail and file gateway
between two distinct networks. Here are the specifics.

Network 1: DECNET based network (SPAN)
Network 2: JNET/RSCS based network (BITNET)

One node will coexist on both networks, and will be running DECNET and JNET
simultaneously (That's the plan anyway). What we would like to do is to
be able to support file/mail transfer in both directions across the gateway.
We would like the operations to be fairly transparent to the user.

My questions are the following:
1. Is this possible ? We haven't seen the JNET documentation as of yet.
2. Has anyone done this before ? If so, is the code used Public-Domain
and how can we get a copy and/or speak to the authors?
3. Is there another way to do this that we haven't considered ?

Any help would be appreciated, and I'll be happy to post a summary of replys
I get to this.
