The system routine SYS$SETDDIR allows a program to inspect or manipulate its process's default directory. It's documented in the RMS Reference Manual in the V4.2 doc set; I think it moved to some other volume in the V4.4 set, but I don't have a copy here to check right now. -- Jerry -------
