We have problems accessing devices on a VAX 11/750 running VMS 4.4 from a Microvax II running Ultrix-32m 1.2, via Decnet/Ethernet. Especially accessing the reel tape TU80 on VMS is actual for sending programs to others. Does anyone know a way to do this access directly from the Microvax. We are now using a Unix simulation under VMS ( Unity ). First the file is generated by tar on the Microvax, then copied to VMS using dcp. Next step is to copy to magtape using Unity and the dd command. This is a very long process, and we wonder if anyone has solved the problem more directly. Tor Onshus Tech.
