>I definately perfer the new info-vax format, I hope it is not to much >work. the summaries are great"!!! Just a comment: I agree that the digest form has its advantages. BUT, on a system that does not have a burst capability (e.g. 'vanilla' VMS Mail), a digest of 30 messages is a pain... Had to add my two cents worth. Mark H. Granoff mhg@mitre-bedford.ARPA

Love those digests! Can't we keep them, please? Let the folks reading from 'vanilla' VMS Mail suffer! --Lisa

Oh all right, I'll say something about the digest format too... I use vanilla VMS mail and am indifferent about the format of the INFO-VAX mailing. I also subscribe to TeXHAX which is in digest format, and my way of dealing with this is to EXTRACT the digest into a special directory, then read it in EDT later. I don't get to everything as quickly, but I do keep everything. (notes in mail are generally deleted by me no later than a week after I receive them since VMS mail is so inefficient.) -Don Hosek

Gosh, I guess most of you are avoiding my problems. As I get them (on a Xerox Alto), most messages have subject fields of "Submission for mod-computers" or no subject at all. So, I've got to slosh through some 50 messages a day, and only about 1% are of any interest to me. Digests with a table of contents would REALLY make my life a lot easier. Since I got the impression that it wasn't clear to you all, my comments about vanilla VMS users was meant to be flip, rather than cruel. --Lisa
