I am trying to get a VAX DECserver 200 to work with a MultiTech 224E ( Hayes compatible ) modem. I have the port set as per the DECserver 200 documentation for an inbound/outbound modem. The port is also configured for a primary speed of 2400 and alternate speed of 1200. My problem is that this is extremely inconsistent. Sometimes one can call out at 2400 but not at 1200. Other times at 1200 but not at 2400. Sometimes at neither speed. The same goes for inbound calls. And sometimes everything works. The modem always connects at the right speed, but seems to be unable to talk properly to the DECserver ( or the DECserver can't talk to the modem ). I have the modem's autobaud and forced-DTR off, as the DECserver is *suppose* to control them. Has anyone had any luck using a modem on a DECserver 200?
