After trying to restore from a Standalone Backup, I am unable to get to any of the files on the tape. The Standalone backup will mount ok, but returns with a FATAL CONTROLLER ERROR I've also tried mounting the tape with /BLOCKSIZE=8192 and tried to COPY the tape to a disk on another system. Same result. Finally, I tried using a utility called TDUMP from Emory University which uses a blocksize of 32767 with the same result. ********* Question: Does anyone know if there's a way to salvage the TK50 tape? ********* I've thought about trying to start a `new' backup to the tape and aborting. This worked one time when I accidently used the /REWIND qualifier when trying to append a saveset. The tape would write the new saveset, hit the end too soon and ask if I wanted to continue. Continuing, allowed me to see the files from the original saveset as if nothing had happened.
