The mail program on our new VMS system uses the following syntax for Internet mail addresses: exos%"user@domain". Reading various mailing lists I have also seen jnet%"user@domain", pony%"user@domain", in%"user@domain". Is there a standard extablished for these names? I think it would be much easier for network users if mail network names were used instead of product names. What are you using to indicate BITNET, UUCP, and ARPA Internet mail addresses on your VMS system? Bill Wells, Postmaster BITINFO@UCBJADE.BITNET postmaster%jade@ucbvax.Berkeley.EDU PS. I prefer pure RFC822 address syntax, however I understand there are some cases where the above syntax must be used on VMS systems (eg. Vax clusters).
