[mod.protocols] X.400 question

atkins@nbires.UUCP (Brian Atkins) (06/11/86)

I have a question about how to handle an MPDU which is too long.
I can't find anything in the CCITT X.400 recommendations which will
allow the receiving MTAE to choke gracefully on an MPDU which is too large.
None of the session exception or abort stuff handle it (as defined in X.410),
and there are no applicable RTS elements either. Does this imply that the
receiving MTAE must accept responsibility for the message and then send a
non-delivery notice even though the message was not received in full?

Also, what are some other forums for X.400 discussions. I have sent
a subscription request to the MHS lists out of BRL and MIT, but haven't
heard anything.
