HEDRICK@RED.RUTGERS.EDU (Charles Hedrick) (08/21/86)
I have gotten a few messages to postmaster@rutgers the last few days which have enclosed copies of error messages returned to people who posted to protocols. The problem of bouncing error messages is one which has recently been brought to our attention. It will be handled. But we are currently working madly to make sure that we are ready for our student onslaught. It would be irresponsible for us to delay start of a course in order to make the changes needed to reroute error messages to the owner of the mailing list. The problem with bouncing all of these messages to me is that it is causing me to throw away all messages about the protocols mailing list. If a genuine problem should appear that needed my attention (which is quite possible given the current problems on the Arpanet), I would not see it. I would appreciate it if you would only send things to postmaster that really do need investigation. -------
