I need to know about the current state of high level protocols on Appletalk. By higher level protocol, I mean a protocal at a higher level than that documented in Inside Appletalk. Some examples: mail remote file system modem server printing The only one of these that I even know exists, is the protocol for printing, but I do not know where to find out exactly what that protocol is. I have heard that it defines a uni-directional stream, so it would not be appropiate for, say, a modem. Apple's work group metaphor is becoming more and more important to the stuff I write, and I certainly want to maintain compatibility with whatever I can, within reason. Please mail to me. I will summarize, and repost to the net if there is any interest. I would like to receive copies of protocol definitions that are in use, pointers to the same, and information about evolving standards. --- David Phillip Oster -- "We live in a Global Village."
