[mod.protocols.appletalk] Kinetics boxes in a teaching lab

verber@OHIO-STATE.ARPA (Mark Verber) (08/29/86)

We are about to find out (running real classes, and experimental tests).
We will summarize after our first quarter (i.e. December or so).

Cheers,

Is anybody able to share their experiences using a Kinetics box (or a
home built) in a teaching lab? For example, if anyone uses a fileserver,
how slow does it all get when 20-30 Macs hit the Server at once? How badly
is the Server hit? Any comments about reliability etc?

Good experiences, bad experiences, in fact any comments about Seagates
would be greatly appreciated.
