[mod.protocols.appletalk] Mac-IP on Mac+

jemi@daimi.UUCP (Jesper Mikkelsen) (09/11/86)

Is there anyone out there who can tell me about the following:

1: Can MacTelnet run on Mac+ with HFS ?
Telnet comes out with an errormessage:
   "could not open the appletalk-package"
It can be done, when you boot the mac from the Mac-IP disk
with the old systemfile but this is a very "clumpsy" way
   to do it !

2: (IMPORTANT!!) Is there any way to redefine the keyboard ?

3: Is there a version of the applications (customize, dftp, telnet)
   written in TML-Pascal ? Incl. the library-files.
(The one we've got is in UCSD-Pascal.)

     Thanks in advance
       Jesper Mikkelsen.

In UCSD Pascal? I have heard about a Lisa Pascal version and an Aztec C
version. I'd like to see such UCSD Pascal sources. Where did you get them?
Are you aware that (until very recently, i.e. August) TML Pascal did not
support units (separate compilation) and I cannot vouch for how well the
units work (I still haven't received my upgrade yet.)

RE: Can MacTelnet run on Mac+ with HFS?

Yes, at least if it's in the top level directory. It has to
have access to the atpl resource in the MacIP disk System file.
Move the atpl resource to your HFS system or into MacTelnet itself.
You can put the Customization Values file into the HFS System Folder.
