[mod.protocols.appletalk] AppleTalk Questions

gert@uvabick.UUCP (Gert Hulstein) (09/17/86)

Hi people,

As we are getting a larger and larger AppleTalk network, we're running
low on available cable length. Is there any such thing as AT repeaters
available (like the ethernet repeaters) ?

Also is there anyone who ever took an AT network to its maximum length ?
And if so, what is the maximum length ?

Is there a way to connect AT networks to a unix machine, without using
something like the kinectics box or seagate ? The connection should
- if possible - go via a (high-speed) RS232 port on my machine, i.e a
57K bps port.

I think many f these questions came up on the net before, but we just
got connected to it a few weeks ago, so if anybody has answer (still
laying around) i would love to see them.
