After much testing, it appears that: Mac <---> Hayes InterBridge <-------> Hayes InterBridge <---> Kinetics gateway does not work. Meaning that the Mac cannot get IP addresses from the gateway or use it. The student working on this called Hayes and asked about it. They stated that Hayes Interbridges and Kinetics gateways were incompatible products and that the problem was with the Hayes, not with the Kinetics gateways. When asked when Hayes would fix this, he was told "Sometime in the future." When pressed, the person at Hayes said "I don't know and they [the software people] do not know." The person at Hayes was unable to provide any more details. Recently Bill said that someone somewhere did have Kinetics gateways working with Hayes Interbridges. What version of various things are you running to make it work? Or did "working" just mean that they did not interfere with each other on the same network? -David C. Kovar
