JOHNSON@NORTHEASTERN.CSNET (Chris Johnson) (12/13/85)

     Hello!

At Northeastern University we are building an ethernet LAN with a
still somewhat amorphous topology.

I am considering buying various vendor's implementations of TCP-IP
Two that come to mind are The Wollongong Group's for VAX/VMS and Data
General's for AOS/VS. Data General's seems to be somewhat limited in
that they don't provide an SMTP (among other things) that I can find.

Are there any users for these out there? I'm interested in bug
reports, functionality reports, ease of use (all kinds) reports, or
reasonable rumors if there are any. Do these two implementations talk
to each other (I should hope) and Berkeley 4.2 or higher?

Any and all information or experience will be much appreciated.

The list in general may be interested but my address is below.

     Thank you.
