Folks, My thanks to Jon Postel, who pointed out my error in the author of thestory about the train with rubber tires. The story I was thinking of is called "Local Transportation in Surfcove," which can be found among the essays of Prof. J. Finnegan. Danny Cohen has collected many of these in his anthology "The World According to Finnegan." The story there concerns a train, sure enough, but not with rubber tires. My apologies to Prof. Finnegan and to Oceanview University, which some say can be found among the towers of Marina del Rey. Dave -------
