SUBJECT: QUESTION CONCERNING RFC950 RFC950 specifies two new ICMP message types, Address Mask Request and Address Mask Reply. They are used to find the address mask for a given subnet. They specify the types, AM1 to represent an address mask request message and AM2 to represent an address mask reply message. Question: What numerical values are associated with AM1 and AM2 for the type field in an ICMP header? Within RFC792-Internet Control Message Protocol, there is a list of message types used by ICMP, none of which reflect the type field representation of AM1 or AM2. Lisa Reiner
