[mod.protocols.tcp-ip] Grounding Ethernet

PHIL@UIUCVMD.BITNET (Phil Howard) (09/01/86)

Grounding may be fine at most times; during thunderstorms, there tends to
be a peculiar electrical ground flow that follows thunderstorms. This
flow is opposite polarity to lower cloud bases, and tends to be the driving
force behind lightning. Good grounding could actually bring about more
lightning strikes. If you at all can, go with fiber.
