[mod.protocols.tcp-ip] nuerous attempts to communicate with a non-existent host

SHEP@XX.LCS.MIT.EDU.UUCP (02/06/87)

I believe USC-ISIB used to be listed as a top-level domain server. If
some hosts still contain USC-ISIB and 10.3.0.52 in their nameserver
configurations, that might explain the continued attempts to
communicate with the "non-existent host". (I did find one host behind
MITGW for which this is true.)
