The discussion was very timely: my TN3270 (ancestry: PC/TCP Telnet and Greg Minshall's emulator code, less curses) succeeded in negotiating to BINARY, EOR & terminal type 3278-2 on its second try (against Wiscnet). I don't require EOR to enter 3270 mode, which seems to be de rigeur, given Spartacus's current behavior. I'll test that tomorrow. Anyone out there want to volunteer a UCLA MVS so I can see how well it backs out of 3270? This one will probably get to terminal type 3278-2 with a 4.3 as well, but that seems to be the way the cookie crumbles (if I've read the postings right). jbvb@ai.ai.mit.edu James B.
