[net.auto.tech] gas and octane reprint

dlp@akgua.UUCP (D.L. Philen [Dan]) (10/21/85)

Thanks for all the favorable response to my article on gasoline.
I am trying to put together an article on diesel fuels too. There
seems to be a great deal of interest in these topics. The "STAR",
the magazine publication of the national Mercedes Benz Club, recently
published two great articles on gasoline (as related to lead) and diesel
fuels. They agree that adding LEADED regular to unleaded high test produces
and octane rating greater than the high test alone.

These two articles are rather long (a few pages of magazine text) and it
seems like I don't have the time to retype them into the net. However,
if anyone wants a Xerox copy, I will be glad to send it to you.
Send me a STAMPED, SELF ADDRESSED, LEGAL (long) SIZE ENVELOPE, and I
will send you the copy. My address is
