I need some recommendations for a hand-held electric grinder which I will be using to port heads and manifolds. Some basic specifications: * 15,000 - 22,000 rpm * Variable would be nice * Accept 1/4" grinding and polishing tools * Under a $100, preferably. Some initial thoughts: * Sears recently had one on sale, but was no-load speed of 26,000 rpm. I've heard rumors that disks and wheels tend to part company at those speeds. * Black and Decker makes a box that sits between the power source and the grinder that can be used to vary speed. Question - Can this be used on other single-speed units? * I know air grinders are usually much more reliable but I need to minimize 1) cash flow and 2) storage space. I will summarize to the net if response warrants. Thanks in advance. Brian Tymchak AT&T NS, Columbus, OH
