Well, I finally broke down and replaced my '79 MGB's dual SU's with a single Weber DGV 32/36. My apologies to the purists out there. Upon installing and tuning I noticed a couple of oddities I thought someone in net land might have an answer to. First, the mixure is correct (as indicated by my colourtune) when the mixture screw is completely closed. Seems to me that I must be bypassing the idle circuit somehow. Is this normal, an indication that my jets are too rich or what? Second, it also occurs to me that the Weber may not provide the same vacuum to my distributor as was provided by my SU's or the original Zenith-Stromberg piece of garbage. Attempts to find out either the required vacuum or the proper advance curve for the distributor have so far led to nothing (One person did tell me that the curve goes up and to the right!). Anyone know where this info might be found? Does it make sense to install some sort of valve like those found on aquarium pumps to 'dial in' the proper vacuum? Finally, a question for those in the mid-NJ area: Anyone know of a shop that can road tune a car, so that I can be sure that my performance is up to par at all speeds? Help on any of the above is much appreciated! Kurt DelBene ...!ihnp4!homxb!delbene
