[net.auto.tech] Jetta Radio Installation

rosberg@ihuxi.UUCP (Rosberg) (02/12/86)

Help...Wolfsburg wins again...
Since the dealer was charging $500 dollars for a radio in the
Jetta (GLI) we just bought, I opted to install one (radio, that is)
of my choice...
Since the car was equipped with the "Radio Installation Package", or something
to that effect, all the speakers are installed and the wires run. Installation
should be a snap, right?
Wrong. there seems to be no antenna lead...anybody out there got any tips?

thanks in advance for your help

Thanks to all the good people thatresponded to my
call for help re radios in Jettas...
all the wires and cables are now accounted for...
now, if I could only figure out how to get rid
of the htree extra elbows I had to grow to reach the
silly things...you think they push them into
the bowels of the dash on purpose, or are they
just fun-loving teutons, laughing at the thought
of those dumb americans standing on their heads
in the foot wells of cars?

again, thanks.
