From the NYTimes 1/22 (I think) Kasparov has agreed to play his rematch with Karpov in late summer. Site hasn't been selected, Leningrad and London in the running. Also, there was a two-page spread on Kasparov, the new champion, in the Soviet Life magazine that just came out. It was typical SL propaganda, no mention of friction, a picture with a caption like "the competitors engaging in the traditional handshake before the game," even though Kasparov hasn't touched Karpov's hand since the beginning of the 72 games. Nothing new or interesting, but even that is sort of interesting. Andrew Tannenbaum Interactive Boston, MA 617-247-1155
