[net.micro.amiga] Amiga OS updates

eric@topaz.RUTGERS.EDU (Eric Lavitsky) (09/05/85)

Hi,

Well, I was beginning to get a little frustrated. I kept having
trouble with the examples from my Amiga manuals. My ROM Kernal manual
was realy outdates - the section on sound was missing (in rewrite),
the section on interrupt processing was out of date, and the section
on task control and synchronization was for V25 of the OS, while I
have V28.

So, today I broke down and called Commodore, and learned a couple of
things. They have already sent me an update! - it should be here in
a day or two. The update includes:

		Kickstart (OS) V29
		Workbench V29
		CLI V29
		New Lattice C system disk
All new manuals, *fully* up to date (except Lattice,
			which is till being printed).

I'm hoping the new manuals will have a little more examples. I will
give my impressions of them when they arrive. I will also give my
impressions on the stability of the new OS release.

Eric
