<this line is not necessary> The September/October (1985) issue of the Columbia Journalism Review has an article about computer magazines, noting the general absence of negative reviews, rave reviews about vaporware, and other such things. It also discusses the relationships between vendors and publishers, and one item particularly caught my eye. Amigaworld ['an independent journal not connected with Commodore Business Machines Inc' -- from the masthead] is having their first three issues funded by (you guessed it) Commodore. Also, Commodore has 'final approval of all editorial material and art.' Presumably, that's only for the issues they're funding. So, blame all the glossy hype and lack of information in the magazine on the marketing department of Commodore/Amiga/Sirius Cybernetics. If the magazine turns out anything like Mcworld (a virtual certainty), it'll be a dud. Gary Hanson Tektronix IDG {the world}!tektronix!iddic!garyh *Have you seen the new Atari 'RIP OFF' ad yet? Interesting that they are using the same approach CBM used to advertise the C-64.*
