[net.micro.amiga] Sony KV1311-CR

I am also impressed with this sony monitors specs. However I would like
to know how it would handle interlaced video signal from the amiga.
I have a feeling that it would flicker on the Nx400 modes, this would be
unacceptable. Does anyone know of a non-amiga monitor which provides for
analog RGB and has slow-decay phosphors? I always want to have a choice
when I buy a product. Until I get a good color monitor I will be using a
crumby B&W one when I get my Amiga next week. Let me know in a hurry if
you have any alternatives.

Summary:Maybe KV-1311CR won't flicker?

You could be right about the flicker on the KV-1311CR if its due to phosphor
persistence. However, there is another source of flicker: moire patterns.
If the raster lines are critically placed with respect to the pixel triads
on a dot-matrix CRT, a small variation in position between scans could
flicker due to a moire interference. I saw some of this on an "Amiga"
monitor at the computer store (the Mandril picture). It's possible that
the vertical pixel stripes in the KV-1311CR would obviate that effect.

I would like to try the Amiga with the Sony sometime to check it out. I
guess I'll hafta wait for mine and cart it over to the monitor store.
