In fact AmigaDos is not a new custom OS, its a slightly modified version of 'Tripos' which is a concurrent OS which has been around for at least five years, and probably nearer ten. I believe it was written at Cambridge University (UK) to work with the Cambridge Ring LAN. As such it is a stable well debugged operating system, particularly suited to multi-processor systems - which effectively the Amiga is, as far as I can see. J.Stark Warwick University.
