[net.sf-lovers] The Harpers article

This seems like a repeat performance to me. Didn't they publish a
similar down on SF article a couple or three years ago? (or was it a
down with hackers article back then?)

The excerpts make the article sound like one of the all too
standard sort of "let's be negative 'cause it makes us look brighter"
critical works that abound in the mainstream and places like Harpers.
The really great thing about doing one of those is that you don't have
to actually read or think about the work(s) in question, just skim and
shred.

p.s could someone tell me what issue that article was in? I would
like to go and at least look through it to see how many times I want
to throw the magazine across the room. I think I'm going to develop a
scale for judging books that will be based on how many times I want to
throw it across the room for denying/violating what I believe to be
basic facts. (no it doesn't apply to hyper-light drives in general,
only to stupid ones that work by having a *really* fast donkey chasing
a carrot on a stick.)
