Some questions to those in the know (especially developers): My understanding is that Commodore gives you two options when purchasing an Developers Amiga. The only difference being that the lower price option does not include the monitor. * What would people suggest, buy the monitor from Commodore, or skip it and buy one off the shelf? * Are there better monitors usable with the Amiga ? * What is the difference between the 1080 and the 1070 Commodore monitors (I'm not positive about those numbers) and where did you get this information from? Commodore? On the subject of persistence (sp?), flicker and high resolution: * is it true that 640 x 400 is not usable for text? * does that mean that the highest resolution for text is 640 x 200 and that 640 x 400 is really *just* for graphics ? * How different (if at all) is the Developers Amiga from the retail (end users) Amiga ? * What other configurations of essential hardware can one use with the Amiga. In summary, the question is really ``what would you do or buy to get the nicest development system, why that configuration, and what are the trade-offs?''
