[net.micro.amiga] Amiga News from Metacompco

I talked to a man at Metacompco (California office) and was able to get
confirmation of some interesting news. Here it is:

MCC Pascal is being ported to the Atari ST (it is already on the
Amiga) and it is supposed to be very compatible with the Amiga version.
This will let developers delay the Amiga vs. ST problem until marketing so
they can start programming soon (not that the choice is at all hard to
make).

Both MCC Pascal and Cambridge Lisp for the Amiga allow the
programmer to use graphics, souns, and other Amiga features but it is very
hard to do and not described in the manuals. I was promised exact
directions shortly.

Future versions of Pascal and Lisp will let the programmer make easy
use of the Amiga's useful features by providing a big library of extra
functions. This make them excellent development tools, especially the
Pascal, which will probably begin competing with Lattice C.

A Franz Lisp compatible front end exists for Cambridge Lisp and a
future version will be Common Lisp compatible.

I think this is all excellent news. I hope you find it useful.
