From: crash!bwebster@SDCSVAX.ARPA As further considerations for enticing folks to get onto BIX, I present the following messages posted by Bob Pariseau (one of the Amiga folks): ========== amiga/main #310, from pariseau, 851 chars, Sun Oct 20 21:19:21 1985 Comment(s). ---------- TITLE: More technical info coming Many of you have entered technical questions here which we have not yet managed to answer. We aren't ignoring you. There are some additional key people I intend to get up on this net as soon as they return from vacation (seems there's this wedding going on in Chicago). In addition, we are considering uploading preprints of the new Amiga ROM Kernel Manual to the net -- particularly the chapters containing the bulk of the corrections from the current manual. These chapters will be Copyright (C) 1985, Commodore-Amiga, Inc., All Rights Reserved, (isn't legal boilerplate fun?) but given the Fair-Use doctrine of the current Copyright laws, I don't think that will give any of you hackers out there any problems. Meanwhile, there's a little matter of this release I have to get out the door. So bye for now.... ========== amiga/rjmonrom #32, from pariseau, 470 chars, Sun Oct 20 20:57:05 1985 Comment to 29. ---------- We are working on making the Amiga dial-in support service public even now. Any suggestions for improving that service are appreciated. In the interim, we are currently posting info to BIX and (just started) Usenet. Personally, I like the organization on BIX -- not to mention the high quality of the content. We will continue to support BIX, even after it goes commercial, as long as it appears that the charges imposed have not impaired the level of participation. =================== See you over there, folks. ..bruce..
