From: crash!bwebster@SDCSVAX.ARPA Lew (and the rest of you): at the time I posted the message on info-amiga about getting onto bix, I was under the impression that bix wouldn't be going commercial until late November. Surprise! It went commerical on the 1st of November. For those of you who got on before it went commercial, I can tell you that the connect rate for 1200 baud was lowered to $9/hour non-prime, but there's still the $2/hour TYMNET surcharge. These rates have been set by executives at McGraw- Hill in NYC who have little experience with telecom systems; the folks at BYTE have been fighting to get the rates as low as possible (the original vision was that bix would be free, but McG-H wouldn't buy that at *all*). I'll let all of you know if the rates go down any more. ..bruce.. Bruce F.
