[ ... go ahead, eat my bits ... ] I'm passing on a some of comments from Dale Luck (of CBM-Amiga) in response to a couple of questions I had: > We really have not been monitoring CIS for amiga information, we > are barely able to keep up with BIX,DELPHI,USENET. I hope those > who do monitor both can send stuff from CIS to one of the three > we are trying to keep up on. BIX is the main publicly accessable > network that we are posting info as well as reams of documentation. > I just posted a 100 page documentation set for graphics. Any chance someone who has a BIX account upload this (or any of the other "reams") here? Alot of people would appreciate it! > The Amiga-Basic by Microsoft is included in the V1.1 upgrade kit. > V1.1 is free, or maybe just cost of disks. It sure is! I happened by my dealer to watch a s/w demo by Electronic Arts (good stuff is coming from them in Dec and Jan), and just so happened that Bob Pariseau (CBM) was there. In addition to answering a bunch of questions, he brought a "present" for the dealer ... yep, the V1.1 s/w is OUT. The dealer kindly let us make copies of the three disks: Kickstart, Workbench, and Extras (which has the Tutorial, Microsoft's MBasic, and several MBasic demo/examples such as ObjEdit, Terminal, speech, music, etc. ... even a LIST-ME file). Workbench now has Calculator (4-function) in the Utilities drawer, and IconEd in the System drawer. Thanks, Bob! > The stuff on the Los Gatos [the Developer's BBS] is being amigized > so that it will work properly when run native. Much of that stuff is > support for the Sun cross development. Hopeful debut in December. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ I hope so, too! > If you think this is interesting for general usenet consumption, > please pass the word. Thanks alot for the info, Dale ... the support you, Bob, and the rest of the crew have been giving over USENET is really appreciated! /kim -- UUCP: {decvax,ucbvax,ihnp4}!decwrl!mips!kim DDD: 415-960-1200 USPS: MIPS Computer Systems Inc, 1330 Charleston Rd, Mt View, CA 94043
