[ ... go ahead, eat my bits ... ] Does anyone on the net know of any BBS's (as opposed to paid-for services such as BIX, DELPHI, etc.) that have a high percentage of Amiga activity and/or who are growing libraries of public domain Amiga s/w? Also, what about user groups/organizations? I'm interested in both national groups, and local ones (San Francisco Bay Area). The only one that I know of is the AMICUS group (AMIga Computer USers), which was initiated by John Foust (who I believe shows up here on occasion). Please e-mail me any info, phone-numbers, etc. you have; I will summarize the results to the net. Thanx, /kim BTW, John has said on Compuserve that AMICUS has some public domain Amiga s/w which he will copy to your disk(s) ... enclose disk(s) and a SASE return mailer. To join AMICUS, send John: o your name and US Mail address o TWO stamped, self-addressed envelopes "to get things started" o if you are a "Developer", include a copy of your developer's acceptance letter, or other proof of that status (one of the disks has text and source from the "official" Amiga Technical BBS) For the database of members, if you wish, describe any of: o expertise or labor you wish to offer the group o electronic address where you can be reached, like Usenet, Compuserve, etc., or your phone number o your interests, s/w development plans o system configuration o disks to loan to the floating library, or to begin the s/w exchange If you have programs to contribute, please put copies on the disk(s) you send. I know there is at least one disk for "non-Developer developers", and one for "Developer developers"; there may be more by now. The address for AMICUS is: John Foust Sight & Sound Music Software 16 N. Carroll St. Suite 600 Madison, WI 53703 ph: 608-256-3646 (John states his employer, Sight & Sound, has no connection with AMICUS ... it's just a permanent address>) Currently there's no charge or dues to join AMICUS. -- UUCP: {decvax,ucbvax,ihnp4}!decwrl!mips!kim DDD: 415-960-1200 USPS: MIPS Computer Systems Inc, 1330 Charleston Rd, Mt View, CA 94043

I saw a magazine on the shelf of a newstand the other day and it was called AMICUS. The magazine is for ecology or environment buffs I think. Mike Gingell ...decvax!mcnc!ecsvax!mjg
