Well, I finally got my Amiga. Now all I need is a C compiler to go with it (sigh). Apart from the bugs in intuition (which I would expect from such a new system), I like my Amiga. The one thing I wish ABASIC had which it doesn't is a way to declare variable types (i.e. you declare X integer (%) and never again need to use the % after the variable EVERY TIME YOU WANT TO USE IT) munch.munch.munch (faking sitting at home... am actually in a semi-crowded computer room on a TVI... I hate TVI's) I don't mind Intuition having to load the ICONS from floppy every time, once I get a hard-drive, it will no longer matter. I hope that with the hard-drive, we will be able to boot from it, etc.... I also have one question to the Amiga people: Is it really neccesary to redraw the ENTIRE screen when you move one silly little box? Why not only redraw those other boxes that were effected by the move (This becomes apparent wen you have 40 DOTTY WINDOWS runing).???? When your in ABASIC, and change screen modes (ala SCREEN), you can see the workbench stuff behind it. However, when you pull down the ABASIC plane, you see nothing. Additionaly, if you manage to hit the right mouse button while ABASIC is changing screens (when you can see the workbenchstff behind it), you usually freeze the Amiga. The latter was tested by executing ABASIC from the ABASIC icon, NOT executing ABASIC from a CLI. Does anybody out there who has a DOS manual want to post the command descriptions and command list to the net? (As long as it is not DIRECTLY copied, nobody can complain) Thanks, -Matt
