[net.micro.amiga] Amiga on 50Hz

/* ---------- "Amiga on 50 Hz?" ---------- */
  A friend of mine is here in the United States from the U.K. for a few
years and wanted to know if he were to buy an Amiga here could he use it
at home with a 50 Hz power system. It is relatively easy to use an auto-
transformer to change the voltage but modifying the frequency is more
difficult. Is it possible to use an Amiga with 50 Hz 120 VAC?
							Thanks

I think I replied to this once, but have not seen the real answer posted.
The Euro software conference used standard amigas plugged into step down
transformers. There was no 50hz to 60hz converter. The only problem seemed
to be the slow passage of time since the real time clock gets it's ticks
from the power supply frequency. Note: the display is still refreshed at
60hz. We did show a preliminary 50hz 256 line display rgb only at the
conference. Fully PAL compatible units will be available next year sometime.
