From: robert dobinson <kost%dac.triumf.cdn%ubc.csnet@CSNET-RELAY.ARPA> To those who have waited for their developers kits I can only say "good-luck and welcome to the club". We have waited for 4 weeks, spend a fortune in long distance telephone charges, talked to vitually everyone and go NOWHERE !. We have even been given a shipping date (DEC/3 via Federal Express to get next day service ) by Alice Feeney (who has been "sick" for some time now). The WAYBILL # we were also given is unknown ! etc... The latest word is that NONE have been shipped (9:00 am P.S.T) . I would be pleased to hear of any positive responses.

Robert, Just relax. I'm sure it's probably just because of the Christmas rush. I know of a friend who has been waiting for his development system for over a month. Things just take longer during the holiday season. Larry Joe McCaughey

We have just received our 2 developer amigas, shipped from Oakland, CA, but NO software and NO documentation came with it. And we are among the "official" Amiga developers! All 3 packages that form the "Developer's Kit" are listed as not shipped under B/O (Back Order?). Somebody at C-A said the kits with the NEW documentation were supposed to be ready! It seems that this is not the case. Anybody at C-A can comment on this? It is funny (and frustrating), we have TWO machines and cannot do anything with it. Not even test whether they work. Mine arrived yesterday (12/17/85), 4 weeks and 3 days after I mailed in my order. I had called CBM to check on this also, and wass told that the delay was because they were waiting for a new Rev of one of the manuals. Because of this, I was expecting to get manuals for V1.1 (seems natural). Alas. Everything in the box (including Kick and WB) is still V1.0. Filled out all the cards from the back of the manuals (6 or 7 of 'em), and mailed them out right away to get the V1.1 Revision of things. Oh well, at least I should be up on the learning curve somewhat by the time the V1.1 updates show up. /kim -- UUCP: {decvax,ucbvax,ihnp4}!decwrl!mips!kim DDD: 415-960-1200 USPS: MIPS Computer Systems Inc, 1330 Charleston Rd, Mt View, CA 94043

I told him about it and he said that you should try showing your developers acceptance to the dealers and asking them for copies of the necessary disks (also he said that you should show them your shipping receipt as proof that you are lacking the software).
