[ ... fanfare ... ] *First* My congratulations to Robert S. French, for his Mandelbrot Self-Squared Dragon Generator. Good job. It's a nice bit of coding. I've had occasion to plumb its depths, and am happy to report that I always came out unscathed. Your scheme with the cascading color set arrangement was well imagined. *Second* Allow me to introduce "Son of the Dragon Generator," my souped-up version of Mr. French's original program. The history is brief: I really really wanted to code up a Mandelbrot Generator on our machine, but ... love life, work responsibilities, you know the story. Suddenly, Robert S. French sends out a program that purports to make dragons! Alas, it wouldn't compile. The program had lost a few lines during some transmission or other. So I rolled up my shirtsleeves and looked under the hood. Soon, I added a little of this and that, and I passed my hands over a few bugs (no offense, Robert). One thing led to another. I think you'll like the zoom. And now there's a humble first-cut at built-in documentation, which may help answer the questions that pop up about how to use the features. Other stuff too. I'm done with it for now. Anyone care to pick it up? It needs the better high-res floating point at greater magnifications, and it needs to save images in IFF format. Other stuff too. Good luck. I hope you enjoy it. Cheers! =RJ Mical= [WARNING: Several LONG files from me are coming RSN (real soon now)]
