I am soon going to be getting my Amiga but I have heard many nasty things about the Amiga 1080 like flicker when interlaced. If I get an Amiga I want to be able to work in 640X400. If I can only really work in color at 640X200, then I'd rather get an Atari ST. So, my question is, does anyone out there know where I can get a 640X200 monitor with high-enough persistance phosphor that by the time 30 Hz gets around again, the screen hasn't started to fade (flicker)? Or better yet (ANY HARDWARE HACKERS LISTENING?), how about some box between the Amiga and the monitor that would remember all the information for an entire 640X400 screen and send a 60 Hz signal to a real 640X400 color monitor while updating its internal memory at the 30 Hz that comes off the Amiga in interlaced mode. If anyone could do it with the Digital RGB (there is one on the Amiga, right?) it would sell pretty well I'd think but a print buffer or something like that might also be nice to include. SO, are there good enough monitors out there? Can my little magic box be made? It sure would be nice to use Dpaint in 640X400 without things shaking.
