[net.micro.amiga] More on "Spoken Bells"

bruceb@amiga.UUCP (Bruce Barrett) (01/10/86)

Sam Decker says:

If you open and close the narrator then the system will expunge
it on an as needed basis. This makes the 23k memory hit somewhat more
palitable. The open/close over head is rather small (unless the device
needs to be loaded from disk).

While your Amiga is speaking more than 50% of the CPU is being
used to speak (speech runs at a high priority).
