The MAC has at least an order of magnitude larger customer base. The PC and clones even more. How much does it cost to develop and distribute an add on board? How many Amigas have been sold? What fraction would be willing to spend many hundreds of dollars more? I suspect that the add on memory board market may still be in the hundreds or low thousands. A lot of the price may be fixed cost amortization that could go down with increased sales expectations. When someone finds out what kind of chips are used in the third party memory boards let us know.
