<> A question about interprocess communication and device driver output on the Amiga. From what I understand only a process can do file I/O to disk. Do drivers have access to a process or could a driver start its own process? I would like to make a pseudo device driver that simply writes the messages it receives to disk files. A process could do this, but I'd like it to be hooked into the I/O routines so an open/write sequence could access it. Presumably, if I had source to my C library, I could tinker with its file handling routines. However, I wouldn't want to be restricted to a single compiler. Besides, I can't afford Aztec C for awhile. Also: I've looked at the printer seqences that the Amiga supports and have been unable to find form feed. Does this mean that the Amiga doesn't support it or is form feed always assumed to be ^L? Has Elcom started shipping ElTerm yet? If so, how does it rate against other comm packages. If anyone knows of a P.D. circuit simulation package (ala Spice) let us know. I saw mention of Spice3 on "mod.os.os9", but haven't gotten a reply back from my query. ---- harold ravlin {ihnp4,pur-ee}!uiucdcs!uicsl!hr
