I recently purchased an Epson JX80 and a Desselhaus Computer Products "Finger Print LetterWriter", which is just a set of roms to give the Jx80 more fonts, including a nlq font. It seems to work just fine with pictures from Graphicraft, but if I try to 'copy foo.c to prt:', it goes along for what seem to be random ammounts of time and the sucker goes 'beep beep beep <pause> beep beep beep' and dies temporarily, the Amiga menu comes up saying "Check printer cable - cancel/resume". Dresselhaus claims the new roms are transparent to native epson functions. I have my doubts, and I suppose will go back to the old ones. Anyone else had any success/headaches with this stuff? When am I gonna learn not to mail order this kind of stuff?
