If anyone is interested, the Programmers Network is sponsoring an on-line project of interest to students and educaters. It is strictly voluntary and non-commercial. The final result of the project could have commercial applications, but it isn't appropriate to discuss that here. This Sunday, at 6 pm (west) and 9 pm (east), the Programmers Network will hold the first on-line meeting to discuss the project. The date is Feb 23rd. The project is the implementation of a NAPLPS (A graphics communications standard), on the Amiga. The Videotext system uses the NAPLPS standard. Our first meeting agenda will be to get acquainted with the other participants and map out a stratagy, then existing sources of information will be identified. To participate in our meeting, you must have an account on the WELL. For information on how to get an account, and how much it will cost, mail to me and I will reply with the information. For those not able to directly participate, the conference will be "Recorded" and a transcript will be available on request. If the meeting time of Sunday 23rd is in-convenient, please mail me your preferred date. I picked Sunday because WELL usage is pretty low at that time, and Packet nets and communication costs are low then. The WELL is on the UNINET packet switching network and is available from most ANY area through a local phone call.
